I study the cognitive and neural mechanism of face and object recognition in humans. I am interested in how perception, memory, language, and social cognition influence the mental representations that humans generate for the input that we acquire from our environment and how these representations change during the process of learning and familiarization. I am using a variety of tools including behavioral methods, neuroimaging and deep learning algorithms of vision, voice and language to uncover the content of human mental representations. I am also very interested in the question of how deep learning algorithms can advance our understanding of human cognition.
